Our Founder shares details about the future CBO Foundation Marine Group
CBO Edpeditions – A Mission with Momentum
“The Oceans Have a Soul — Let’s Honor Them.”
Welcome to the CBO Expedition a mission-driven part of the Clear Blue Oceans Foundation (CBO Foundation), powered our ClubZERO Rewards members, corporate and individual donors. Collectively created to help inspire a movement of action, awareness, and the recovery of ocean plastic waste. From luxury eco-cruises or sailing adventures, to extended plastic waste recovery missions, your membership comes with altitude and a “Porpoise-Driven” objective (pun intended).

Our Mission - Removal of Plastic Waste in Hawaii
Every hour, over 1,200 tons of plastic enters our oceans. That's like dumping 6,000 barrels of oil every hour, every day—choking marine life, killing millions of seabirds, polluting coral reefs, and poisoning our food chain. We’ve heard the ocean’s cry. The CBO Marine Group and its CBO Expeditions will answer the call through and other bold, interconnected future initiatives:

The Value of Plastic
-
Marine debris washes ashore: Hawaii sees an estimated 15–20 tons of plastic waste every year on its beaches, with 96% being plastic—particularly on remote shores.
-
Sanitation and waste stats (Oʻahu): Around 214,000 tons of landfill waste were handled in 2016, with 27% going to Waste‑to‑Energy (H‑POWER) and 20% recycled. Recycling rates remain low due to limited in‑state infrastructure.
-
Limited local processing: Only PET (#1) and HDPE (#2) bottle recycling is accepted—for others, plastic waste is shipped off-island, burned at H‑POWER, or landfilled; no wide-scale plastic melt-down facilities exist in Hawaii yet.
-
Pacific Island countries: They generate ~644,000 metric tons of waste annually, with 133,000+ tons at risk of entering marine environments due to mismanagement
-
Per capita generation of ocean-bound plastic: The Pacific Islands can be 20× the global average, despite low population—due to weak infrastructure and high tourism impacts
-
Volume of Plastic That Reaches the Oceans: At least 12 million tonnes of plastic leak into oceans globally each year; the Pacific contributes a significant share via coastal leakage, gyres, and improper disposal mainly in Asian countries.
Would you pick up a $100 plastic bill if it was on the ground? Of course you would.
Plastic only becomes waste when it loses its value. At CBO, we’re redefining plastic as a valuable resource—one we collect to process, and transform into energy with our long-term goal: to build a Plastic2Power processing plant in Hawaii to turn recovered plastic into fuel to generate electricity, and end the lifecycle of this waste once and for all. These older videos share the ocean plastic waste issues.
Volunteer or Cruise: Choose Your “Plastic Porpoise” Mission

The CBO Marine Group, through GridZero, intends to build a customized 400 foot dual passenger & cargo ship v (based on the Aranui 5 as shown above sailing French Polynesia & Tahiti). Initially we call her MS Porpoise-Driven. The ship will feature a crew of 60, with 50 cabins reserved for paid ClubZERO member volunteers of planned 3, 6 and a 12 week coastal clean-up missions to remote Hawaiian coastal areas. Click on the Aranui 5 Deck Plan which will, of course, vary under our design.
Volunteers will be paid $500 per week + provided free room, food, and $100 weekly in ClubZERO Reward Credits for their participation in the clean-up efforts. Paid volunteers may join multiple mission-tours based on pre-booking and membership seniority (hint: Join Early).
Clean-Up Cruises (Experience & Contribute)
The CBO Marine Group will reserve 60 all suite cabins aboard the MS Porpoise-Driven for paid ClubZERO members who wish to join the mission as a cruise vacation. Costs are set at $1,500/week per person (double occupancy or $3,000 per cabin) for a 3 to 6 week immersive remote beach clean-up cruise excursions.
Guests can take part in the clean-up if desired, mix with onboard volunteers, take part in onboard educational programs, reef tours, and exclusive experiences or just chill out and relax. . (similar deck plan is seen below). All food and non-alcohol beverages, water sports, snorkel gear are included, with alcohol and crew gratuities at additional cost.
Annual Voyage Plan
Although a few years ahead of our actually ability to start remote clean-up operations, CBO Foundation is already planning 1 twelve-week missions to remote Henerson Island, 2 six week missions (12 weeks) to Midway and Johnson Atoll, and 7 three-week missions (21 weeks) for remote Hawaiian coastal clean-up tours, or 45 weeks at sea annually, with 7 weeks off for maintenance and crew holidays between December and January. Planning such trips can take years to gain s into these ECO_sensitive remote places.
Why ClubZERO Members Get First Access

Access will be based on membership seniority or donor contributions levels. Volunteers will forever be known as the exclusive ClubZERO OceanPreneurs group.
Mission Sponsor & Donor Opportunities
As the CBO Foundation, headed by our Founder develops its stated initiatives, they will also create a number of unique product placement sponsorship opportunities for large corporate brands, non-profits, and individuals who support our ocean-related programs. Although we will accept only sponsors or brands that show a sincere effort or interest in address the ocean issues, like reduction of plastic waste and debris, geo-engineering of our skies, food or water.
Sponsors must want to be a part of the movement to heal our oceans while gaining recognition and measurable impact ClubZERO members will share on social media.
