Founder/President/CEO shares his objectives with Plastic2Power USA
Plastic2Power USA (P2P)
A GridZero Venture Fund Company
Plastic2Power USA (P2P) is one of the most innovative and impactful business models developed by our Founder. Originally conceptualized in 2012, P2P was designed to address the mounting crisis of plastic packaging waste in oceans and landfills. After being temporarily shelved due to the global Covid pandemic and economic uncertainty, the project is now being revived under favorable business conditions and renewed interest in the sustainable energy infrastructure under the Trump administration.
With recent shifts in federal environmental policies, a more investment-friendly tax structure, and growing public awareness of the plastic pollution crisis, the time is right to launch this much-needed solution.

Our Mission: Transform Plastic Waste into Energy
Plastic2Power USA aims to become a national leader in plastic waste recovery and conversion. Using proven, scalable pyrolysis technology, we plan to process both ocean-bound and land-based plastic waste—turning it into low-sulfur fuel oil, syngas, and hydrogen. Our mission is simple: End the life cycle of plastic packaging waste by repurposing it into clean energy. From the dry cleaner bag to the water bottle, we intend to become "The Plastic Waste Solution Company" of the future. An image f the proposed processing line is seen below.

The P2P business was integrated into the GridZero Venture Fund portfolio in 2023, with a goal to help address the vast amount of new plastic packaging waste that is generated daily and stacking up nationwide at recyclers, and our landfills. We will contract them to obtain this waste feed stock no cost,
if we agree to transport it from their facilities. The potential for P2P is very substantial and we hope to build the equipment needed in the USA to help further drive this solution..
A Scalable Model with Massive Potential
The P2P business is being established as a standalone company. Our plan is to establish multiple plastic-to-energy processing plants across the U.S. beginning with:
c
-
A flagship plant near Las Vegas, NV
-
Several additional sites in California
-
Future expansion into Hawaii and Arizona
d
Each processing line is capable of converting 30 tons of mixed plastic waste per day into usable fuels and energy.
How It Works
d
%202.jpg)
Each P2P pyrolysis processing line (as seen in the above image) operates inside a standard industrial facility and processes all mixed plastic packaging waste (exclusive of PVC). It takes approximately 1.55 barrels of oil to generate 1 megawatt-hour (MWh) of electricity in a typical oil-fired power plant.
d
c
-
Low-sulfur fuel oil for transportation use
-
Syngas to power turbine electrical generation
-
Hydrogen for future mobility & energy applications
-
Char bio-products for use in chip manufacturing Key stats:
-
10 lbs of plastic = 1 gallon of fuel oil
-
1 gallon of oil = 1.6 kWh of electricity
-
30 tons/day line = ~6,000 gallons of oil (143 bbs)

At full capacity, a 10-line plant could generate nearly 900 MWh per day, contributing directly to local grid demands, such as EV charging stations and AI data centers.
Why This Matters
Every year, over 10 million tons of plastic enter our oceans, and many times that amount ends up in landfills. Since China and other countries stopped accepting U.S. plastic waste in 2018, plastic has been piling up—often burned or buried—with little public attention until recently
Plastic2Power USA is positioned to change that.
s
By recovering plastic packaging waste from landfills, recyclers, resort hotels, food services, tropical island beaches, and commercial buildings, P2P can:
s
-
Mitigate environmental damage from plastic pollution
-
Create a renewable energy source from waste
-
Reduce dependence on fossil fuels and foreign oil
-
Generate new revenue and jobs in clean tech manufacturing
d
Market Opportunity
Plastic packaging waste is not just an environmental hazard—it’s a multi-billion-dollar hidden energy resource waiting to be reclaimed. With proper infrastructure and funding, P2P can help transform this "hidden oil spill" into an engine of economic growth.
For example:
-
Las Vegas Valley alone generates an estimated160 tons of plastic packaging waste daily (think resorts hotels)
-
If P2P processes just 300 tons/day, that would be equate to ~890 MWh of power
-
In Southern California, GridZero estimates over 7,000 MWh/day of potential energy output is possible
The initial P2P processing plant proposed for Las Vegas (seen below) incorporates a series of drive-thru waste collection sites (top left), which would also take in glass, paper and aluminum cans. Local ClunZERO members would earn Reward Credits when bringing in clean waste products. Once proven to work in Las Vegas, the model could be duplicated in any major city. Plastic processing plants could also be integrated within the prison systems, providing inmates with work and teaching them a new skill.

The Path Forward
A full-scale 10-line facility is projected to cost $50 million, excluding land and infrastructure. GridZero is currently seeking:
-
Strategic funding partners and impact investors
-
Joint ventures with pyrolysis technology manufacturers
-
Development sites in Nevada, California, Hawaii, and Arizona
-
Public-private partnerships with local governments and waste operators
c
GridZero MetalWorks, another division we are building, hopes to secure the licensing rights to manufacture all these processing lines and systems in the U.S., to leverage domestic tax incentives, offset tariffs and build an American workforce dedicated to solving the plastic packaging waste crisis - while producing clean energy.
d
The Path Forward
As the global demand for clean energy and sustainable waste solutions accelerates, Plastic2Power USA is poised to lead a new industry—where plastic waste becomes power, pollution becomes profit, and innovation drives job creation and environmental restoration.
With strong market fundamentals, favorable federal and state policy support, and a visionary business model, P2P has the potential to become a high-growth multi-billion dollar public company and a national leader in clean tech infrastructure.
